Food Trip: Papa John's

While the family were in Megamall, my hubby asked me where to eat for dinner. Since I was craving for pizza and Sofi wants some spaghetti, I asked if we can have dinner at Papa John's since hindi pa namin sya na-try.

When we entered the place, we were just standing in the entrance waiting for a crew to approach us. I figured someone will approach us and ask for how many table or atlis will ask us to wait. I saw 5 tables available inside, but told my hubby to wait for awhile baka kasi may waiting list or something. There were only 3 crews in the dining and lahat sila busy, that's were we decided to go inside na lang and grabbed a table and chairs.

It took us awhile to request for a menu, though we were trying to get the crew's attention. I thought, menu pa lang matagal na, how much more ang food. I was about to ask hubby and Sofi na lang to leave and find another place, nakahalata ata na patayo na ako when a crew gave us a menu. Finally! haha! :D

Here's what we ordered: Mozzarella Sticks Php 129

Carbonara. Forgot the price :( I think around Php160-180

Super Papa's Pizza. Again, I forgot the price. But, we ordered the small one and I think the price was between Php 330-350

They served our food prompt naman. First, was the Mozzarella Sticks. It was ok. Sofi loved it though. Well, Sofi loves anything with cheese haha! Then they served the Carbonara after. The plate was small (same plate like the Mozzarella Sticks) for a Carbonara. I was used to regular plates kasi pag pasta e. I was a bit disappointed with the taste lang. Nothing special about the sauce and it's a bit dry for me.

Pizza is another story. We. Loved. it! Loved the crunchiness of the bread. Yum!!  Loved the toppings too. When they served our pizza they also served melted butter and big green pepper. At first, I did not know what for. Again, I did not ask. Haha! I just followed the picture of our paper mat . I hesitated first about the green pepper. Though, I love anything chili (maanghang), sayang naman if hindi ko pa try, right? :) So, when I was done with my pizza, I bit (little only) the green pepper and dipped the crusty bread into the melted butter. It was so delicious! Loved it instantly! :))

Sofi and I while waiting for our order.

Too bad with the pasta, but maybe we'll give it another chance or order a different one. They deserve a second chance. :)  But, we will definitely go back for the pizza.

To all Pizza lovers, try Papa John's and I'm sure you'll love the experience of eating Crusty Pizza + Green Pepper + Melted Butter. :))

Like Papa John's Facebook Fanpage for more info location.

Are you a pizza lover? What's your fave? Feel free to share! :))

I Heart: Island Baby

Being a mommy is the best job in the world! As much as possible you want to protect your family from any danger, sicknesses or negative situation. And since I'm a mom to my 5 y/o daughter, gusto ko she's protected 24/7.

But, even though I want to be the best mom, I can't protect her all the time, not even sa mga mosquito bite. Sobra akong paranoid sa mosquitoes kung alam nyo lang. And we all know how rampant ang dengue fever in our country (Philippines). So, aside from praying to God for protection, I'm glad when KMBI gave me this Island Basics' Island Baby  Bug Off Spray.

I use this to shoo-away mosquitoes. What I do is, I spray them in front of the fan para kumalat ung smell since pwede naman syang gamitin as a room spray My daughter loves the smell! For me the scent is parang aromatherapy-ish. Super loveeeet!! Everytime nakakakita ako ng mosquito, I spray this agad :)

What I love about Island Basics' Island Baby Bug Off Spray? It is made of organic ingredients. It smells really good, promise! :) This is a must for every family! :))

"Our products are all locally made in the Philippines and whenever possible, our ingredients are also sourced locally. We also support some groups like Green Earth and World Vision. By buying our products, you help provide jobs and education to Filipinos." - Island Basics Facebook Page

AJ Rafael's Red Roses Asia Tour 2012

AJ RAFAEL KICKS OFF RED ROSES TOUR

AJ RAFAEL kicks off his Red Roses Tour in Southeast Asia produced by Monsoon Productions. The tour kicks off on January 13 and will be visiting Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines. The tour includes the AJ Rafael Band consisting of AJ Rafael, Noah Bartfield, Danny Morledge, Andrew Rhim, and guest artists Krissy and Ericka Villongco from the Philippines. The second leg of the tour, produced by Nojon Entertainment happens in Australia visiting Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

AJ Rafael, is a 22-year old music artist from Moreno Valley, California. AJ has garnered a worldwide audience with his original music, videos on YouTube.com, and live performances in the US, Canada, Australia, Europe and the Philippines. With over 350,000 subscribers on YouTube, 200,000 fans on Facebook, and 90,000 followers on Twitter, AJ Rafael’s fan base grows steadily worldwide. The Red Roses tour hopes to reach AJ Rafael’s fan base demand in Southeast Asia and return to one of his second homes, Australia. AJ was also included in the short-list of the Grammys last year for its non-traditional/on-line category.

It should be noted that one of AJ’s major musical influences is Gary Valenciano whom he recently performed with live on ASAP 2012 when he was formally introduced to the mainstream Filipino music-loving market. AJ also took notice of Gabriel Valenciano’s and Kiana Valenciano’s cover version of Chris Brown’s “Yeah Yeah Yeah.” AJ saw their performance on YouTube and liked it and corresponded with Kiana via Twitter. Today, AJ finished collaborating with Kiana as they recorded a song with Gab as the producer.

Alongside the tour and through a partnership with PhilDev, AJ has adopted the CRIBS Foundation, a welfare institution committed to the care and recovery of abandoned and abused children in the Philippines. Proceeds from red roses at the Manila concert will go to CRIBS. AJ, during his trip is exploring additional ways to give back to the Philippines. AJ and his team are in discussions with the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation on how to partner for future advocacy and campaigns.

“We are excited to have AJ Rafael perform for the first time for his fans in the Philippines, Southeast Asia and return once again to Australia, where they have been long time supporters of AJ. We are grateful for the opportunity to bring AJ’s music here. More importantly we are fortunate to have great partners to help us introduce non-profit organizations who need assistance in the Philippines. This first visit marks beginnings and new opportunities for many,” says Christina Luna, AJ Rafael’s manager.

AJ’s show in Manila happens at the Music Museum on tonight, Jan. 18.

Penshoppe Pre-Summer 2012

FEEL GOOD FASHION WITH A CASUAL EDGE - Penshoppe

Fresh from a stellar 25th anniversary year in which leading fashion brand PENSHOPPE showed every other local apparel group how a leveled up campaign should be, the label now continues its brand-repositioning process, with the goal of reinforcing its position as the top of the mind brand for years to come.

So what can we expect from PENSHOPPE this 2012? Traditional casual wear with clean nautical touches. Color blocking. Light fabrics that are easy to wear. “The latest campaign is more relaxed and approachable. Definitely feel good fashion with a casual edge,” shares Brand Director Alex Mendoza. “Trends to look forward to over the year are more vivid use of colors, clean silhouettes, acid wash jeans and our highly popular varsity jackets.”

Consequently, PENSHOPPE kicks off its Pre-Summer 2012 campaign with a modern take on cheerful wardrobe fundamentals such as jeans, shirts, jackets and other signature style as fronted by the brand’s strongest brand presenters: Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick, Asian superstar Mario Maurer and local “it” girl Solenn Heussaff.

CASUAL COOL: The New Kind of HOT

There are many reasons why a smart, sensible guy’s girlfriend would take one long look at Ed Westwick’s latest campaign for PENSHOPPE and run to the store – boyfriend in tow. After his surreal visit to Manila last year much to the amazement of fans and fashion observers alike, it seems apparent that to create a Chuck Bass out of every guy became every girl’s 2012 resolution.

To start off the New Year, Ed remains as PENSHOPPE’s biggest level up ammunition and for one very good reason: There is no one out there who can pull it off the way Ed can.

Simply put, there is no other Chuck Bass.

Starting the New Year with a SMILE

If Ed Westwick is considered by many as PENSHOPPE’s marketing ammo, then it is fair to say that Asian heartthrob Mario Maurer is the brand’s sales catalyst. Soon after the 23 year old was signed last August sporting the brand’s now famous varsity jacket, the item immediately went out of stock – early on proving that anything the kid touches turns into gold.

And that was just the beginning. Indeed, anything that Mario wears from his PENSHOPPE collection sells fast: jacket, jeans, shirt, shoes, you name it - even a cap. Proving his incredible cult-like following among teenagers as well as young adults, anything he models are likely to fire up fans to line up and buy across PENSHOPPE stores nationwide.

It’s HIP to be “IT”

Solenn Heussaff is not just a pretty face – she is a powerful female influencer.  Prior to her entry into local showbiz, it was PENSHOPPE who discovered her years ago when she was just modeling. Since then, Solenn has fronted some of the brand’s most memorable campaigns.

With more than 440,000 plus followers on Twitter to date, the French-Filipina has sure come a long way since first being discovered by PENSHOPPE. She also possesses a sophisticated personal style that makes her the perfect female lead for what is now considered the Philippines’ fashion powerhouse.
