Models took to the catwalk in geometric animal masks and ornaments led by three highly celebrated SM Accessories Ambassadors: Xian Lim as the alpha of the antelope group, Georgina Wilson heading the flight of the avians, and Anne Curtis escorted by the pack of black panthers.

SM Accessories also expanded their roster of ambassadors revealing Philippine TV’s teen royals as a leep of “AristoCats”. Enrique Gil, Julia Barretto, along with the country’s hottest couple Daniel Padilla and Kathyrn Bernardo strutted through the diamond-shaped runway exuding the spirit of their fierce feline counterparts the tiger, snow leopard, leopard, and the cheetah. Make up was sponsored by MAX Factor and hair by Creations by Lourd Ramos. The show closed with a bang, treating the high-energy primal dance number stomping through the watering hole set in the middle of the avant-garde runway.

As the night came to an end, attending celebrities, SM VIPs, and members of the media danced to the beats of top Manila DJ Nina, lowering inhibitions with round of cocktails in celebration of SM Accessories and the world of possibilities it continues to open up.

Share Your Child’s Song with ‘Tang Galing sa Karoling’

Christmas, being a time of merry-making and holiday performances, is particularly special to us Filipinos. “Karoling,” specifically, becomes a simple but meaningful way for people to make everybody’s holidays a bit more colorful.

From the busiest streets to the quietest neighborhoods, one can’t help but see things a bit more vibrant. In spite of the cool breeze, you can feel a little warmer inside when children’s joyful voices are blending together as one, cheerily carrying the Christmas spirit through the air.

This holiday season, Tang Philippines seeks to spread Christmas cheer all over the country through the magic of ”karoling”—made possible by you and your kids! You can share the Christmas color and let the power of your child’s voice be heard, together with thousands of other karolers via the “Tang Galing sa Karoling” microsite and free mobile app (available for Android users since and coming soon for Apple users).

Of this cheerful initiative, JR Miranda, Senior Brand Manager of Tang Philippines, said, “Children, specifically, have the ability to make everybody’s holidays more vibrant when they share their voices in a round of Christmas ‘karols.’ That’s why we are empowering you and your children to take on a more active role in spreading joy to more people, anytime and anywhere, through the power of digital connectivity.”

“Christmas after all is about kids. So this project celebrates it in a grand way—with and through kids,” Miranda added.

Tang has been refreshing kids and moms for many years. It’s a perfect brand to create a more colorful Christmas because of its refreshing, delicious and colorful 10 flavors. Each one a perfect pair to any Christmas dish or Noche Buena meal. Thus, Tang seeks to extend the color it brings from the table to the rest of the world with its new campaign “Ang Kulay ng Pasko.”

In line with this campaign, the “Tang Galing sa Karoling” microsite and free mobile app allows parents like you to share your children’s talents to the rest of the world by singing a Christmas karol.

You can upload video recordings of your children’s performances of popular Christmas songs, karaoke-style! Lyrics, pre-recorded music, and additional sound effects are provided to enhance your child’s singing experience. Children can also get creative with their submitted “karol” by putting a different spin on the song, or performing their own unique rendition.

Not only that, “the videos can also be used as greetings to family, friends, loved ones, and/or anyone you think would appreciate an extra dose of Christmas joy, since at the end of each video recording, there is time for you to say a Christmas greeting or message to your loved ones then send and share,” Miranda added.

At the end of the promotion, selected voices will be compiled to create a virtual karoling choir video. Your child can be part of this grand effort, doing his or her part in making Christmas more colorful all around the world.

Ang Kulay ng Pasko with Tang

A week ago, I witnessed a "flash mob" in my favorite transpo when I commute. Yes, it's none other than the MRT station. But we usually see the flash mob ng dance. Not a singing choir, right? And in line with what's happening in our country right now, some of the faces inside the MRT either has a gloomy face or sadness because of the recent tragedy. I myself can't imagine how I will celebrate and feel the happiness that Christmas season brings.

So, imagine the surprise of all the people inside the MRT when one by one, children ages 8-14years old stood up, gathered at the center and began singing Christmas medley songs in tagalog. Kakaibang karoling indeed.

If there’s one thing we Filipinos love doing, it’s singing. Whether it’s a kid being asked to come up with an impromptu performance during a family reunion, or somebody belting out a power ballad into a videoke machine (with or without score), sharing the gift of music is in our blood. No wonder karoling is so widespread throughout the country when the “-ber” months come around.

This image of karolers as bringers of Christmas cheer is central to Tang Philippines’ latest endeavor. This year, Tang plans to make everybody’s Christmas more colorful with its campaign to bring “Ang Kulay ng Pasko”. The first stop? The Karoling Flashmob right on the MRT. Tang brought together a special group of karolers to create a colorful Christmas for commuters, people who likely could use a bit more color in their everyday ride. Add to this experience the many refreshing, delicious and colorful flavors of Tang that make it a great brand to bring out the Christmas cheer!

Good thing Sofi was with me at that time. She can't believe that these children presented us a song inside the MRT. :) (photo grabbed from Ava)

All smiles at the MRT :))

Commuting after all can bring a damper on the happy atmosphere of the Holidays: Longlines and a crush of people during this season are facts of life.

During the campaign launch last November 6, Tang prepared different surprises for commuters all over the Metro. As an early Christmas treat, booths were set up to offer the different Tang juice colors and flavors to refresh those who may be tired from the daily commute or simply needed a little more color to their day. Not only that, thousands of lucky commuters were also treated to free MRT tickets courtesy of Tang. All these while the kid karolers serenaded people waiting in line for their tickets or their turn to ride the MRT as Tang truly shared “Ang Kulay ng Pasko!”

Through this project, Tang’s karolers plan to brighten up the days of the often-weary commuters with the gift of song, as Christmas draws ever closer. On selected days, a group of karolers will be paying visits to several MRT stations and singing a selection of Christmas karols there. This will continue on different days, at different times, along different stations, in order to spread the color to as many people as possible.
So be on the lookout for these Tang karolers.

Thank you, Tang Philippines for lifting up the Filipino spirit with simple joys such as caroling.

Kensington: A Majestic Sleeping Experience Mattress Launch

Last week, I attended the Mattress Launch: A Majestic Sleeping Experience by Kensington at Our Home, SM Megamall. The event were hosted by the power couple, Anthony and Maricel Pangilinan.

The Uratex Premium Mattress allows anyone to sleep on its royal and majestic elegance and magnificent comfort that will suit everyone’s varied needs and tastes in comfortable style. There's 3 types of Kensington beds to choose from. There's Kensington Classic, Kensington Luxe and Kensington Oppulent.

Honestly before, I thought sleeping as long as there's a bed, you'll be well rested. But, it's not always the case. You need to build a habit, a pattern and a good bed to achieve and enjoy a good rest. Dr. Deborah Bernardo shared her insights in why sleeping is good for us. That there's  a long term effects if you have poor quality of sleep. We may be young now, and enjoying every waking moment of our lives with no sleep. But in a long run, our body might not be able to cope when we reach our old age.

With IDr. Stephanie Yan, PIID, she shared the benefits of designing your bedroom. Making it attractive enough to lure you into sleep and cozy enough to be intimate. Anthony Pangilinan also shared that as much as possible, don't bring your laptop, gadgets into your bed. Make it your bonding time, bonding place with your family. (note to self.)

Uratex also held a Student Bedroom Vignette Contest wherein young aspiring designers designed a bedroom. And here are their designs.

The young group of ladies called this bedroom the "Alice All Grown Up". They used Kensington Luxe as their bed.

An Aubergine Affair as the title of this bedroom. They used the Kensington Classic.

The Slumber in Lush bedroom used white decors as their aesthetics. And Kensington Opulent for the bed.

"Alice All Grown Up" took home the grand prize! Congratulations, girls! Good job!

And in line with what's happening in Tacloban and some parts of Visayas due to Yolanda, Uratex gave 4,000 sets of mattresses, 2M cash donation for rebuilding school and classrooms and 2M worth of blankets. Super thank you Uratex for your generous heart.  Your generosity is the start of a new beginning for these people that can now rest comfortably with their Uratex bed. Thank you.
