Paseo Verde Will Soon Rise to Meet Condo Living Demands

According to data from the Department of Tourism, International tourist arrivals to the Philippines from January to August of 2013 grew to 3.18 million from 2.85 million for the same period a year earlier. By the year 2016, the Philippine government targets 10 million international tourist arrivals, and to serve this growing market, 20,000 new rooms must be built by then.

That only means more condo units must be developed to meet that demand.  That’s good news to our country right?  If you’re one of those who are sourcing out your own abode and might be thinking the supply for quality and comfortable living is not enough, fret not, LEED Inc. is here to be of service.

The construction of LEED Inc.’s first project, Paseo Verde in Real, remains on track as construction goes full-swing to complete the first tower of the 1.1-hectare mid-rise condominium project.

Bankee Toys Trade Show

With less than 100 days before Christmas, days are getting shorter and before you know it, it's time to buy gifts for our families and loved ones. And speaking of gifts, I believe that even though "it's the thought that counts", I think our gifts shouldn't be just any gift, right? Especially when it comes to children's gift. It should be useful, safe, durable and fun! I confess that as a Mom, I have trust issues with toys that are bought sa tabi-tabi(no offense) or toys that are not safe health wise. Our top priority when it comes to children's toys should be there safety and had an extensive quality control. Mahirap na, esp there are toys that are dangerous to our kid's health. Maybe some of you are thinking na dapat mura lang or not too expensive since minsan lang lalaruin. But let me share with you what I found at Bankee Trading Toys, they're not only safe, but affordable too!

It was a toy heaven when Bankee Trading invited us to their Trade Show held at Edsa ShangriLa. If you saw Sofi that day, ang funny ng pagkakilig nya, haha! Super kilig sya when she saw all the toys that were displayed sa shelves.

I know that it's every little girls dream to have their own Anna or Elsa doll! Sofi's eyeing this already, hehe!

Sofia the 1st dolls are so cute!

Frozen overload! Aaawww I want this Olaf plushie! Little Anna and Elsa are also available. We want the whole cast!

SM Eco Bag and Lowe Philippines Exhibit Launch

Ever since we stopped using plastics, I always carry one eco bag inside my bag. It's easier for me to use eco bag when I go to the grocery store or when I buy something. It's safer to use also especially if you're commute and umuulan tapos naka paper bag lang pinamili mo? nakow! Hassle sa bangs. haha! Well, aside from these reasons, we should also know that reusing, reducing and recycling is everyone's duty in the race to save Mother Earth.

Speaking of eco bag, SM Malls in partnership with LOWE Philippines held an art exhibit with murals created out of reused plastic bags and were displayed at Atrium of SM Aura Premier.

Called Eco Bag artworks, the murals are part of an award-winning campaign by advertising agency Lowe Philippines. The agency believes that the campaign, which aims to create environmental awareness about the improper disposal of plastics, can reach its intended audience more effectively by holding it at an SM Mall.

This project also coincides with SM's own campaign that encourages its customers to use eco bags for the shopping needs.

Tips on how to declutter your home by Mandaue Foam

I know a lot of you can relate to this. I am so in need of decluttering! Haha! Read on to know more tips on how to declutter your home.

Decluttering is a great way to keep your home clean and in perfect order. It allows you to manage the movement around the house and ensure that there is, as they say, “a place for everything, and everything in its place.”

Start by sorting through the clutter then classifying it according to two categories: Items you’ll keep or let go. Remember that the reason you declutter is to have a clean and comfortable home. Do it by keeping only household items that you need like things you use on a regular basis and get rid of clutter that’s making your home untidy.

For things that you no longer need: you can donate, sell or dispose it. Be it back issues of magazines or clothes you’ve outgrown, let go of unnecessary items that would only turn into a clutter.

For household items you’ll keep, organize it accordingly with the storage pieces like cabinets, bookcases, racks and wardrobes. These items allow you to put every item in place and utilize space for other furniture pieces. If every item in your home is organized, it will be a lot easier for you to find things you need for you know exactly where you can find it.

Lactacyd's Intimate Launch

When you hear the word Lactacyd it is synonymous to feminine wash, right? I first experienced using Lactacyd when I was in my teen years and my mom introduced it to me. I think there was only one variant at that time and it was color pink. Who can still remember that?

And now, Lactacyd has now other variants that will cater to your preference. I attended the intimate launch of Lactacyd held at Crowne Plaza, Ortigas. Aside from launching their other variants, they also launched Anne Curtis Smith as the new ambassador for Lactacyd.

I hear them singing ‘Buon Giorno’ when they leave the theater.”

Dengue Fever Awareness with Calpol

One of the fears of every parents out there is if your child/children is sick. You sometimes feel helpless and vulnerable. If you can just take the sickness and pain away in a click of your fingertips, you will do so. And I know a lot of you can relate that whenever your child is sick with fever ang unang pumapasok sa isip nyo is Dengue. You will check all the symptoms, read or google to know more of the signs of dengue before it's too late. It's like every week I read in my facebook newsfeed either they have dengue or they know someone who is sick with dengue. I have a cousin who had a worst case of dengue and it was like hanging on a thread to survive(thank God she survived!).

And in all cases, prevention is the key! But first, read on and find out more of the symptoms, signs and how to stop fever and dengue. I learned a lot too when I attended the Aksyon Laban sa Dengue, A Dengue Fever Awareness and Education Program held at Makati Shangri-La.

Do you know that the most dangerous animal bite in the world is also the most common and often go unnoticed? Caused by the deadliest insect in the world, the Aedes aegypti mosquito, dengue is the most rapidly spreading mosquito-borne disease in the world and is more rampant in countries with tropical climates like the Philippines. Dengue affects more children than adults, with kids one to nine years old as the most vulnerable victims because of their predilection to mosquito bites. In some regions, dengue has reached epidemic proportions.

The World Health Organization has recommended Paracetamol as the preferred and only recommended analgesic treatment for Dengue Fever. Aspirin or ibuprofen is not advised as these drugs may aggravate bleeding.

Calpol®, a product of GSK, contains Paracetamol specially designed to offer effective relief from the discomforts of pain and fever among children. Calpol® also has the broad suitability associated with standard paracetamol so you can be assured that it won’t harm your child when used as directed.

De La Salle Health Sciences Institute Bloggers Campus Tour

I've been out of college for years(don't ask what year, hehe) and when I was invited to attend a bloggers campus tour at The De La Salle Health Science Institute (DLSHSI) in Dasmarinas, Cavite I felt a little excited.

The De La Salle Health Science Institute (DLSHSI) was recently awarded with a grant from the Department of Science and Technology for its anti-dengue project. The project aims to explore how local indigenous medicinal plants, can be used as an alternative cure for dengue.

Given that dengue has been a recurring problem in various cities and municipalities all over the country, a study like this is highly timely with the results considered to be a postive breakthrough benefitting millions of Filipinos.

Fight the frizz and flaunt your style with Philips hair care tools

During the long and gloomy days of the rainy season, the weather is not the only thing that gets out of control—this also happens for your hair.

Goodbye moisture, hello frizz-free hair!
The rainy days call for a different hair care routine. Pia Umayam, Business Development Manager for Philips Consumer Lifestyle, says “the conditions during this time of the year require a few hair management tweaks.”

When it comes to shampooing, use a lightweight shampoo and conditioner that has ingredients like emollients, proteins, and silicone. According to Pia, “These products fill the gaps of your hair cuticles and lessen the chances of absorbing humidity.” She adds, “Actually, the secret to keeping your hair from frizzing lies in how you blow dry it. Hair professionals recommend blowing it bone dry to prevent excess moisture. Afterwards, cooling your hair will ensure that the cuticles are closed, so water can’t sneak in.”

The Philips Thermoprotect Ionic Hairdryer is the perfect hair-grooming companion during the rainy season. Its innovative ionic conditioning uses charged negative ions to eliminate static on hair strands. Pia says that this technology not only helps flatten the cuticles, but intensifies the hair’s glossiness and shine as well. She describes, “This hair dryer even has a cool shot feature that can help seal your hair cuticles.”

The Philips Thermoprotect Ionic Hairdryer

“Each time it rains, the air becomes thick with water and hair absorbs the excess humidity like a sponge, leading to brittle, stubborn frizzed hair,” explains RJ Buenaventura, General Manager for Philips Consumer Lifestyle.

He continues, “So, how can you keep your hair under control while keeping it healthy as well? Well, women will be glad to know that there are many ways to help their hair survive the dreaded monsoon months.”

Why the Proper Packaging of Chicken is Non-negotiable

Healthy eating “is the core of my family’s life,” reveals top mommy blogger Sara Tirona.  It is more than just a tradition or a preferred combination of dishes, but a well-loved activity that “brings us together, a chance for us to catch up and bond.  It keeps my family strong, healthy, and energized.”

Indeed, an abundant amount of energy is vital as well for the author of the popular fashion lifestyle blog fashioneggplant.com which gets a monthly average of 54,100 unique visitors while enjoying a still-growing membership of 2,564. Sara’s day starts at 5 a.m. when she takes the kids to school; afterwards, it’s a whirlwind of activities that includes attending events, writing and posting articles, taking care of household chores, and working out at her Crossfit box.

At the same time, she makes sure she spends quality time with her children.  Meals – from breakfast, lunch, merienda, to dinner - become part of those memorable moments.

Perhaps to make each dining activity truly special, Sara plans the menu and shops for the grocery herself.  She cuts “junk food out of the equation and replaces it with fruits, yoghurt, muesli and granola bars instead which surprisingly my daughter prefers. I also try to make sure that we have minimal saturated and trans fats in our diet and that most of everything we take is free-range and organic.”

The Scholastic Readers Cup

Growing up, you will find me curled up in my bed with a book. I started reading at the age of 5 years old, then I enrolled in a public school when I was 6 and instead of enrolling as a prep student, I got accelerated to grade 1 because I passed the reading entrance exam and medyo advance yung reading comprehension ko for prep. Naks! :))

I began loving books even as a kid. I remembered saving up to buy books and I started collecting children's series. Anyone collected Sweet Valley Twins, Archies, Charlotte's Web, etc.? And it's true that reading takes you everywhere! With books, it took me to farthest places, discovered so many things and I learned a lot.

I'm happy to share with you that Scholastic, a publishing company behind Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and other bestselling series, spearheaded an interschool literacy contest poised to become one of the premiere literacy awards in the country—the Scholastic Readers Cup.

A pic with Clifford made my day. :)

I was invited to attend the Scholastic's Readers Cup held at Rockwell Tent. It was an event where they gave recognition and paid tribute to educators for excellence in the field of literacy. The Readers Cup aims to recognize literacy educators (teachers, librarians, principals and schools) for outstanding work in improving literacy in their school.
