The ASUS Zenfone Live L1 was made available last July 21st and has officially launched at SM Cyberzone Mobile Fest - but more on that in my future post. Anyway, with a price tag of Php5,995, is the ZenFone Live L1 should be your next smart phone? Read and find out.
Personally, I think a smart phone should have these qualities:
1. Budget friendly - of course we don't want to spend too much money on a smart phone especially if there's always a new model. Make sure it's pocket-friendly and yet offers awesome specs.
2. Excellent camera - for me, this can't be compromised. As a mom, photos are very important to me. I want to look back and relieve those memories without regretting the quality of photos. Because we all know photos are forever and you can't turn back time.
3. Compact - now that I have a toddler, it should be easy to carry and use. As a multi-tasker, sometimes it's hard for me to text while carrying my baby. So it should be perfectly fit with my hands.
Are you looking for a well-balanced phone with some of the high end specs like Face Recognition but on a tight budget? Or are you missing some must-have features like Expandable Memory, FM Radio, and 3.5mm jack that are nowhere to be found nowadays even in flagship phones? That's where Asus ZenFone Live L1 comes in.

Going against the trend of all-glass, this phone is built with a Metal unibody that’s non-removable that makes it more durable and worry-free when it comes to accidental drops.
While the only logo you will find is at center stage which gives it a more subtle and refined look. It has a lot of color options as well and is available in Gold, Black, Pink and Blue colors.
It has a triple slot tray to house two Nano SIMs and a memory card.
The ZenFone Live L1 comes with 2GB RAM has a 16GB storage space for storing files and apps, but can be upgraded up to 2TB with a microSD card. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo Go Edition with ZenUI 5.0 user interface.
As a substitute for fingerprint scanner, Asus chose for a more reliable and trending facial identification feature which mostly can be found in Flagship phones only.
Display
ASUS made a complete overhaul in terms of design with the Zenfone series, with its take on bezel-less trend and it continues with Live L1. The screen offers 18:9 aspect ratio to give users a Full View experience that is great for multimedia consumption. Bezel-less 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen surely attracts users who prefer a "compact phone".
With a screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and 295 pixel per inch density it is clear enough for reading, browsing pictures, and even playing games both in portrait and landscape mode.
Inside the hood is a Snapdragon 425 chip from Qualcomm with Quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture, 4-Cores of which, reaches a standard speed of 1.4GHz with 28nm process technology. Graphics processor, on the other hand, is Adreno 308 which clocks at 500MHz for a perfect gaming experience.
Camera
For its camera, we have a 13MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture lens and at 4160 x 3120 pixels. The camera has an 80 degree wide angle lens with a LED flash for brighter pictures. At the front, we have a 5MP selfie shooter that has an 85 degree wide angle Lens with a LED Flash and supports Face ID.
I took the liberty of taking photos and I'm impressed with its quality. Who can say it came from a budgeted-phone? Check out my sample shots and see for yourself. It's on auto mode and hd mode. Will be uploading more sample shots on my Facebook Page.
Battery
It has a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Unlike in other budget phones, charging is still faster and is expected to be fully charged from zero to 100% around 2 to 2.5 hours.
Verdict
With must-have features like Expandable memory, FM Radio, and 3.5mm jack which are rare these days, plus a price tag of only php5,995, ZENFONE LIVE L1 is definitely one of the most bang for the buck phones that came out from ASUS. Not to mention the bezel-less design and Face ID which are seen in most Flagship phones nowadays.
Would I recommend this? DEFINITELY! It's perfect for people who are looking for a Flagship phone experience for lesser amount.
ZenFone Live L1 is @now available in all ASUS Stores.
