Good news! We can now taste Singapore's number 1 traditional homemade egg sponge cake brand Ah Mah - which means grandmother in various Chinese dialects. Made in Malaysia with love, It has expanded to Singapore, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, and now, it finally reached the Philippine shore! Woot!
I had a privilege to attend the private launch at Ah Mah's 1st Philippine branch, Robinsons Magnolia.
The Ah Mah's cakes are freshly made with high quality flour, milk, corn oil, fresh eggs, and sugar. They are freshly baked everyday with no water and no preservatives kaya sure kang each cake is extremely soft, bouncy and moist.
Yes, they use real cheese for their Cheese Sponge Cake. Mind you the cheese is not a spread type. Real slice of cheese sya kaya super nalalasahan mo yung cheese sa sponge cake. Hindi sya "cheese flavor" lang.
The homemade sponge cakes are available in five different variants:
The Ube flavor is custom-made specifically for the Philippines and they used high quality local ube halaya.
The chocolate taste so good. Instant favorite!
Prices starts at Php150 to Php190. Depending on the flavor. It last up to 3 days (inside the ref.).
Tip: To maintain the fluffiness, you can reheat the sponge cake for 10 seconds in the microwave.
Future plan din ng Ah Mah to have their own drinks as well. Hope they'll have this in their future branch. Perfect pair sya with their sponge cake.
Good news! To celebrate their opening last July 21, you can be a member of Ah Mah's Cake club by purchasing the Ah Mah's Sponge Cake! All members will get a card with exclusive benefits, plus a surprise gift on your 3rd sponge cake and a free original flavored egg sponge cake after your 10th cake purchase. Woot!
Thank you Ah Mah for having me.
Ah Mah will soon be opening doors at SM North Edsa Sky Garden (can't wait!).
In the meantime, don't forget to drop by at the 3rd floor of Robinsons Magnolia (in front of Robinsons Department Store) and take home a fresh on-the-spot baked cake by Ah Mah.
