Practical Ways to Create a More Organized Back-to-School Routine

Back-to-school season can be busy for moms. From preparing baon and school supplies to making sure the kids are ready on time, mornings can sometimes feel stressful and rushed. That’s why I was happy to attend the SM Home Masterclass: Start Smart for School.

The afternoon was filled with real conversations, practical ideas, and home inspiration all in one session. I loved how the discussion focused on real Filipino households and simple routines that can help make busy school mornings feel lighter, smoother, and more organized.

One of my favorite parts was learning practical tips that we can easily apply at home:

Kids’ study tables should face the wall

This was one of the most interesting things I learned during the session. Having the study table face the wall can help lessen distractions while kids are studying. Since children can easily lose focus when there are too many things happening around them, a simple and quiet setup can help improve concentration and productivity.

Keep study spaces clutter-free

A clean and organized study area can make a big difference in how kids focus and learn. When the table is free from unnecessary items, children can pay attention better and feel less overwhelmed. Even simple organizers and proper storage solutions can help keep everything neat and easier to manage.

Create a space that is conducive for learning

The study area does not need to be fancy. What matters is that it feels comfortable, organized, and functional for kids. Proper lighting, comfortable seating, and enough space for school supplies can help create a better learning environment at home.

Organizers help make routines easier

I also realized how useful organizers are at home, especially during the busy back-to-school season. Having proper organizers for school supplies, snacks, baon essentials, and study materials helps keep everything easy to find and less messy. Small organizers may seem simple, but they really help make everyday routines smoother and more manageable for moms.

Invest in good baunan

I also learned how worth it it is to invest in quality baunan so food stays warm until lunch time. A good baunan also helps keep snacks and meals neatly arranged, which makes baon preparation easier for moms. I’ve been loving this baunan from SM Home because fruits, crackers, and little snacks stay organized and in place.

Multi-use appliances and proper kitchen tools can save time

Another helpful reminder from the session was how practical multi-use appliances can be for busy households. Appliances that can do more than one task help save time, reduce kitchen clutter, and make meal preparation easier, especially during busy school mornings. Anything that helps make daily routines faster and more convenient is always a big help for moms.

Meal planning helps make mornings easier

Back-to-school also means back to baon planning. Ready na ba kayo? I’m planning to start listing down snacks and meals for the week ahead because I know it really helps make busy mornings less stressful and more organized. Such a simple habit, but it can save time and make baon preparation smoother every day. A good reminder for all of us that planning ahead, even with something as simple as a meal list, can make a big difference for the whole week.

What I really appreciated was how practical and realistic all the ideas were for everyday family life. Sometimes, it’s the small and intentional changes at home that help create smoother routines and less stressful mornings for everyone.

From organizers and study tables to baunan and multi-use appliances, it’s nice to know that these helpful and functional items are easily available at SM Home. They truly have practical finds that can help moms create a more organized, comfortable, and school-ready home for the family.
