LIFE UPDATE + OUR EXPERIENCE WITH SORE EYES

This is not my usual post pero just want to share why I don't update that much these past days. Sofi and I have SORE EYES! Huhuhu. Never kong na-imagine na magkakaroon kami ng sore eyes. Why? I thought nauuso lang sya. Mali pala ako. It's an all-year round virus and walang pinipiling tao eto. Kahit sino pwedeng magkaroon. Masaklap? Pwedeng umulet. Waaaahhh!!!!

I've posted in my Facebook Page the other day na we brought Isha to the ER of St. Lukes due to an on off fever. It started last Friday tapos nawala nung nagparacetamol then nagkaroon lang ulet nung Sunday. She had no symptoms whatsoever. Walang cough or colds. Very active and eat pa din sya. Kaya wala kaming maisip ng source ng fever nya.

When we went to the ER sinabihan kami na waiting time is 1-2 hours. Since andun naman na kami and kahit nawala fever ni Isha tinuloy na namin pag-antay. Thank God all lab results were negative. And since then no fever na si Isha though she developed cough and colds nung Tuesday but at least it is manageable.

Aside sa migraine ko the whole day nung Monday, #TeamSofIsha were ok ok naman.

Pero Tuesday before I went out naabutan ko si Sofi sa house from school. She told me na nasa clinic sya nung morning dahil namula daw eyes nya. The school nurse put eye patches on her and some eye drops. Kaya I told her she'll be absent the next day para mapacheck sya.

Wednesday came nagfever naman si Sofi nung morning. Again, no cough or colds. Our pedia in St. Lukes is not available every Wednesday kaya I decided to bring her to Healthway na lang since yun ang malapit sa amin. So plan ko optha and pedia for her.

But before we left for Healthway I messaged daddykins and told him na parang may nakatusok sa right eye ko. He told me to wash my eye with running water. Pero hindi pa din nawala. Nagsuspect na ako ng sore eyes. Huhu.

Confirmed! Tinamaan kami ni Sofi ng sore eyes. Huhu.

After our Healthway doon ko na naramdaman yung pain and swollen eye. Hindi pa affected yung left eye ko but the Optha said meron na din daw.

For Sofi naman may fever pa din sya hanggang makauwi kami. Umabot pa sya ng 39. We don't know anong cause nya. And no, hindi connected sa sore eyes ang fever. According to our Optha sore eyes don't cause fever.

Excuse the photos but I thought of sharing our journey lang with our sore eyes.

Day 1 - paguwi from Healthway naging ganyan na right eye ko.

Day 2 - both eyes are now infected. I only forced my eyes to open for photo purposes pero talagang half-open lang ang kaya ko. I have high pain tolerance pero ramdam ko yung kirot sa mata ko. Huhu.

Day 3 - pain was manageable. Both eyes were red. I can slightly open them na unlike the day before. Mas itchy sya and mas teary eyed ako. My mom told me to rest my eyes from using my phone kasi super red sya. Natakot din sya. Haha! We went back to our Optha for follow up and thank God our medicine is taking effect na.

May talukap ulet ako, hehe. Pero grabe ang kati. Huhu! And super conscious ako sa paghawak ng eyes ko kasi according to our Optha mas nakakahawa na yung ganitong stage.

Day 5 - you can see the white na. Pero wow sa sobrang itchy! Tiis lang talaga. We still take eye meds.

As of Sofi, hindi mo malalaman na may sore eyes sya. For the whole duration once lang sumakit ang eyes nya, nag konting red, and that was only the first day. After that wala. As in you can't tell talaga. Only when she had her eye checked saka sinabi na meron syang sore eyes hanggat 4th day meron pa din. Very normal. And case to Usuallyc, basis sya, it only takes 10 days or less for them while 14 days or  adulless sat.

Today, Monday, I am on my Day 6 and Day 7 naman si Sofi. We're due for follow up today sa Optha. Can't wait to be over and done with this. Ang hirap kumilos esp if you have a toddler.

The reason I share this with you it's because I want to share din what I learned from sore eyes. I experienced last week during our follow-up checkup sa Healthway ang titigan ka pati mata mo tapos iiwasan ka na as in nag iba ng way ng lakad, haha! Akala nya kasi it's in the air.

So here's what I learned:
  1. It takes 72 hours para magkaroon ng sore eyes (kung nahawa ka after rubbing your eyes)
  2. It takes 10-14 days healing process. 10 sa bata and 14 sa adult
  5. Need palitan ang pillow case every night. Labhan, patuyuin at plantsahin bago gamitin ulet
  6. Hindi pwedeng magshare ng towel, damit
  9. Laging maghuhugas ng kamay at mag alcohol
  10. Huwag directly hahawakan ang mata esp.if nasa labas ng bahay na hindi ka makakapag hugas ng kamay or alcohol
  11. Pwedeng maligo, walang bawal ng food
  12. If magfever hindi sya connected sa mata. Better check with your doctor
  13. Healing process can be shortened depende sa gamot na irereseta sa iyo
  14. Mas nakakahawa ang papagaling na
  16. Pwedeng magka sore eyes na hindi nagmumuta or nagluluha. Hindi ako nagmumuta. Only sa 2nd day lang pag gising pero other than that hindi na naulet
  18. Mas makati sya pagpatapos na
  19. Only the Optha can tell if nakakahawa ka pa or not. Just because natapos mo ang 10-14 days healing process e hindi ka na nakakahawa. Better have it checked sa Optha mismo
  20. You can ask for clearance if babalik ka na ng school or work para makampante din ang mga kasama mo na hindi ka na nakakahawa
  21. Sore eyes ay hindi uso uso lang. It's viral infection all year long. Walang pinipiling tao o panahon ang sore eyes.
Unlike with cough and colds na pwedeng mag face mask, you can't disguise sore eyes. Napakadaling magspread ng virus nito esp. if you directly touch your eyes. Kaya let's pray for their protection talaga.

I intentionally did not mention kung anong gamot namin kasi ayaw kong mag self medicate ang makakabasa nito. Just go to Optha.

To brands, friends and PR's, pasensya na po if madaming naging pending in the last few days. Actually, last Friday ko pa plan i-post ito kaso hindi ko matapos tapos dahil nirerest ko din  ko ang eyes from using gadgets.

Praying for everyone's health. Mahirap, hassle at magastos magkasakit. So always make yourself clean.

And pakiusap sa mga may sore eyes or kahit pagaling na, please refrain from touching your eyes then touching things without washing your hands para hindi kayo makapag spread ng virus.

To our readers, pasensya na sa mga lack of updates. Excited na ako for October because it's #TeamSofIsha' birthday month. You know what that means? Stay tuned.
