Wear It Well with Timex Timeless Design

Did you know that Timex celebrated its 160th year? I was surprised to learn also when I attended the media launch of Timex Philippines Fall-Winter Collection held at Cav Wine Shop & Cafe, BGC.

In the 160 years of Timex, they're one of the world’s best known and most beloved watch that throughout its long history, Timex has transformed timekeeping into true expressions of personal style.

Earlier this year, Timex unveiled its new “Wear it Well™” campaign, which leverages the fact that Timex has been and will continue to be, truly timeless.  As they have proven throughout their long history, Timex watches are classics and never go out of style.

ING New York Marathon 2013 Timex delegates

Last weekend, I was invited to attend the intimate media send off with our ING New York Marathon 2013 Timex Philippines delegates. We were able to get to know more of our representatives during lunch at Lorenzo's Way in BGC.

The Pangilinan's were so game in answering questions regarding their preparation in terms of mentally, physically and emotionally for their upcoming marathon. I thought running in a marathon is easy. I mean, tatakbo ka lang naman, right? But no pala! Anthony shared to us his 1st experience in running the marathon. It's a 4-5hours of running, you can take a break for restroom, pero syempre you can't rest too long para yung adrenalin mo intact pa din.

Let's get to know Anthony Pangilinan more:
- A management trainer, motivational speaker, and productivity consultant.
           - Anchor of a 2 hour weekly Teleradyo Program in AksyonTV5 called Magbago Tayo, which is broadcasted nationwide and worldwide.
 - He was one of the finishers in the 2009 and 2010 Ironman Philippines 70.3 held in Camarines Sur Watersports Complex and in the 2012 and 2013 Ironman Philippines 70.3 held in Cebu City with local and foreign triathletes from different countries.
- He was the official Timex Philippines Delegate to the New York Marathon in Nov. 2011.

- His official finish time is 4:26:53

And Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan:
-  Wife to inspirational speaker Anthony Pangilinan
     - An award-winning actress and authored 5 books. She has won a Catholic Mass Media Award for her children’s book  Super Benj in 2006.
           -  She writes a weekly column for Philippine Star called Mommy Talk.
- Since she joined triathlon, she has garnered the following podium finishes: 3rd Placer Anvaya Invitational Triathlon 2009, 4th placer Camsur 70.3 Ironman Relay Division, 1st place Ateneo Aquathlon 2012, 1st place Bert Lozada cup Invitational   Swim Meet 2012.
She was the official Timex Philippines Delegate to the New York Marathon in Nov. 2012. However the event did not push thru in observance of the Boston Marathon         bombing.

Coach Rio was set to join the Pangilinan's at the marathon, but due to her wife's pregnancy, he decided to stay. Sweet, right? "_

Timex contract signing with Polo Tri Team

Timex forges a significant partnership with the Philippine Polo Triathlon Team last June 18 in Makati City. The world-renowned timepiece provider has strengthened its ties with the internationally-known team in a contract signing headed by Timex General Manager Avinash Uttamchandani and Polo Tri Team founder Fred Uytengsu.

With Uytengsu at the helm, the Polo Tri team competes in both local and international competitions comprised primarily of over 60 athletic members of different professions and age group. “It is with pride that Timex continuously shows support with a growing group as effervescent as the Polo Tri. We are in high spirits that upon entering our fifth-year partnership, we will still provide an essential ally to the team’s performance when it comes to time-gears,” notes Uttamchandani.

“The Polo Tri team essentially uses Timex watches for trainings and races. And through the years, we are happy that Timex has unrelentingly showed us support. What better way for our athletes to be equipped but with a leading brand in the watch industry that is known to produce quality, value, and timeless styles,” Uytengsu says prior to the event.

Time-geared athletes have converged in a cocktail party bannering the group’s official timepiece, the Timex Ironman® Target Trainer HRM. This piece features a TAP Technology packaged neatly in black straps with a 3-Workout memory with recall of lap/split times and average hour per lap. In addition, the Timex Ironman® Target Trainer HRM has an interval timer with eight segments, each containing its own label and HR Zone, an HR in BPM or %-of-Max Format and an Automatic Recovery Heart Rate Timer with user-selectable time. The timepiece user can also choose from ten target zones with alerts and recall AVG/Peak Workout HR, Time in Zone and calories burned.

Timex never ceases to come up with innovations that will perfectly suit each one’s interest and lifestyle. Truly, a great bond has been built between Polo Tri and Timex in aiming for a strong camaraderie and quality, desired results.
